RE: Bounder wanders, some suggest castor shims???

Skrams, Unless I take it to a shop, I have no way of telling what my Castor is at this time. I'm only assuming that a tad more will help with my problem. I have no problem installing the shims if, I can find someone to sell them to me. Scott buy axle shims online here

RE: ford f53 brakes

It sounds like you have the normal hydroboost hissing, however if it is acompanied by brake grabbing or pedal kickback this may be caused by contamination within the hydroboost system. See Ford TSB 99-25-8

RE: Myrtle Beach Restaurants

Note: We mostly eat out at lunch. These recommendations are based on our lunch time visits Logan’s Road House Hwy 17 Bypass Worth the trip for the dinner rolls alone. Sea Captains House Right on the ocean in MB around 30st N. and Ocean Blvd A perennial favorite Dagwoods Deli The one on Hwy 17bus in Surfside. I recommend the Philly cheesesteak. Liberty Tap room and grill 7651 Hwy 17 bus in the northern part of Myrtle Beach, about a mile south of the 17's split. Excellent Grouper sandwich, lots of beers on tap, more a restaurant than a bar atmosphere at lunch time, never been there at night. The best kept secret in Myrtle Beach and the only buffet I can recommend Prossiers BBQ in Murrells inlet. Go for the 11 to 2 lunch buffet, it ain’t fancy, but it’s really good food and it’s cheap. $5.99 for the buffet and $1.50 for sweet tea. I recommend Thursday for the meatloaf. Ultimate California Pizza It’s a local chain, I’m sure there is one up near where your staying, they deliver. I get the Big Kahuna and ask for extra red sauce . River City Café Another local chain owned by the same people as Ultimate California Pizza, The Divine Dining Group. Good place for burgers. Bubba’s Fish Shack, also a Divine Dining Group Restaurant at the ocean in Surfside. We get the Grouper finger basket Note: I have no affiliation with the divine Dining Group. Thorny’s on Hwy 17 bus in downtown MB. Good Burgers.

RE: Generac Generatot Burned Rubber Smell

You are not wrong. The gen belt is indeed a cog belt. Your both wrong, I just had my Generac 55G apart. the belt is flat with groves that run length wise just like the serpentine belts that are on the front of most autos today. a cog belt would have grooves that are perpendicular to it's length, an example would be a cam to crankshaft timing belt.

RE: Generac Generator won't start???

You don't say what model Generac you have. I will post two links to downloadable Generac literature that I have. One is for engine manuals, the other is a troubleshooting guide. Engine manuals Generac troubleshooting guide

RE: Installing snaps for outside window covers

We gave away our Prompts and went with the screw in stainless steel snaps with the Sunguards.....nice tight fit on the front AND the sides.... You could NEVER get the Prompts tight on the sides and they sagged....and I all the side window Prompts I have seen sagged....so I gave them away. Yes, the side curtains sag a bit if they get wet but if you're on the move a lot as we are, the quick on/off convienience out weighs that minor point.

RE: Chevy Tracker as a Toad

Our Tracker is a 2 wheel drive manual transmission. We tow in neutral and never stop to exercise the transmission, never had a problemm. PS: our tracker tows like theres nothing there, it's a big change from the Jeep Grand Cherokee we used to tow. At the risk of getting flamed I'll tell you I don't use a breaking unit in the tracker. The unit I had in the jeep would malfuntion and apply the brakes, I'm afraid in the tracker I wouldn't notice the drag and would burn something up.

RE: 2000 F53 problem on road UPDATED

I and a friend both had motor homes on the 2000 ford chassis. Both would sometimes quit working similar as yours and we would stop, turn off the engine for a minute or so, start up again and everything worked fine. It might happen twice in a 100 miles or might not happen for months of driving. When in doubt, boot the processor! My advice for anything run by an electronic chip. As long as the magic smoke hasn't leaked out, more often than not it will correct the problem, just today I had to cycle power (remove the battery) from my cell phone to fix a glitch.

RE: How do you keep mice out of an RV?

Our MH is in the yard with full hookups, so I use ultra sonic pest repellors. I have at least one in every receptacle in the MH. I also have poison bait stations on the perimeter of Camp Daisy to keep the breeding population down. I also remove all the food from the MH in the winter. IMPORTANT PEST INFO FOR FORD V-10 OWNERS: Don't forget to check under the intake manifold for rodent nests. The little buggers love to build nests between the intake and the valley pan.

RE: Springmade RV Resort, myrtle Beach??

As I understand the history of this park it was originally for employee's of Springmaid textile mills. It morphed into the seasonal trailer park it is now. I hope the person who bought the trailer didn't pay too much for it because he's going to get the boot soon. I remember reading an article in the Sun newpaper last year that they are going close the park and redevelop the property. Heres the first paragraph of the article: OWNERS EYE NEW USES FOR RV RESORT Vacationers who have parked their RVs at Springmaid Beach Resort every summer might have to find a new spot next year. The company that owns Springmaid, Leroy Springs & Co. Inc. of Fort Mill, is considering other options for that piece of the property. But officials aren't saying what changes will occur, or when. Springmaid is at Ocean Boulevard and U.S. 17 Business in Myrtle Beach. The 176 annual campground leases will be honored through the end of this year, Published on June 18, 2006, Page D1, Sun News, The (Myrtle Beach, SC)

Fixed my leaky Generac 5500G

I finally got around to dropping the generator today, it's been leaking oil since I purchased the MH. I pulled the lower pans off looking for the source of the leak, even pulled the lower pulley to inspect the crank seal. Finally found the leak, it was the oil fill tube. It consists of a threaded nipple that screws into the block, the other end has a two bolt flange. Bolted to the flange is a cast aluminum manifold that extends to the front of the generator. At the front of the genny this manifold turns upward and is threaded for the oil fill cap/dipstick.The bolts at the flange were loose. Also the flange is machined for an o-ring and it wasn't there, just a flat gasket with no sealer. After cleaning I reasembled with an o-ring and non hardening gasket sealer. The job took about 6 hours, because IMHO the 5500G is not a service friendly piece of equipment.

RE: Delaware Seashore State Park

We'll be there for July 4th, stop by and say Hi! We'll be set up just like the picture below. By the way we're ex-patriot Delaware-ions. I grew up just outside Newark and worked there for 36 years. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t68/DrivingMissDaisy_photos/P7200026.jpg

RE: campground suggestions

When we went to Memphis we stayed just south in a casino campground in tunica Mississippi. Do a search if your interested theres a few down there. PS Graceland charges for everything, take lots of jing to see the king! In Nashville we stayed at the KOA. We liked it a lot, large wooded sites, individual private showers in the bathhouse, conciere on site, tours pick you up right at the campground, walk to Campers World, close to all the attractions. If you happen to be a KOA basher, there are a couple other campgrounds on the same road as the KOA.

RE: Delaware Seashore State Park

The campground by the bridge is nothing more than a parking lot. I would look elsewhere. I mentioned to my wife one Sunday last year after the weather turned bad and a lot of rv's left early, that we're basically lined up here like trailer trash. If it wasn't for the close proximity to the beach and inlet there wouldn't be much of a reason to stay here. The surf and the beach have magical powers, enough so that I'll be back this year for two 14 day stays.

RE: Thousand Trails Promo?

You don't get nothing for nothing. If you think it's going to be easy to sit thru a casual 90 minute tour for the freebee's your mistaken. It's high pressure sales and the're very good at it. I went once for the 3 day stay, to us it wasn't worth it. Our salesperson wouldn't accept no for over two hours. We didn't care for the preserve at all, but just because we didn't enjoy our stay doesn't mean others won't so i'm not bad mouthing the system, just warning you about the sales pitch.
